The City of Victoria’s Community Safety and Bylaw Services team is growing, and we are looking for a highly organized and service-oriented Bylaw Administrator to join us. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring our community standards are maintained.
The successful applicant will work a rotating four-week schedule, the majority of shifts ending at 10pm between Saturday and Thursday, with a minimum of 17.5 hours per week, offering a unique schedule while keeping you connected to meaningful work in the community.

KEY DUTIES
INDEPENDENCE
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Effort:
Sit with arms unsupported while keyboarding. (often)
Prolonged standing at counter. (often)
Mental Effort:
Deal with negative and verbally abusive comments and complaints. (frequent)
Visual/Auditory Effort:
Focus on a variety of source data and computer for short periods. (often)
Work Environment:
Office.
KEY SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Organize and prioritize work.
Understand and apply techniques of office administration related to bylaw environment.
Type 50 wpm, working level operation of current City word processing, spreadsheet, and related specialty software.
Use standard office equipment.
Maintain accurate records.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Deal effectively with the public and outside agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Formal Education, Training and Occupational Certification:
High school graduation.
Accredited courses in Office Administration. (6 months)
Experience:
3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER:
May be requested to substitute in a more senior position.
Required to obtain criminal record clearance.
