Are you passionate about inclusive sport and community recreation? The Sport & Recreation Services team, part of the City’s Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Department, is seeking an IMPACT Associate to support inclusive sport programs, community events, and special initiatives across the city. This role offers hands‑on experience while contributing to programs that promote access, equity, and belonging.
As an IMPACT Associate, you will:

Auxiliary status employees will be paid an additional 15% in lieu of vacation, holiday, sick leave beyond the statutory requirement, and other benefits, per the CUPE Local 50 Collective Agreement.
WORK FROM HOME
The successful candidate for this posting may be eligible for participation in a hybrid, work from home arrangement in alignment with the City’s Work from Home Policy. Such arrangements are determined with each employee and subject to change based on operational needs and policy direction.
POSITION FUNCTION
As an IMPACT Initiative Associate hired under the City of Victoria’s Inclusive Municipal Program for Advancing Careers and Training, you will be given meaningful and challenging assignments while being introduced to a career in municipal government. In this Associate position, you will assist with projects within a specific City department, contribute to the overall goals of the work unit, have job shadowing opportunities, and participate in educational experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must reside in Greater Victoria or surrounding areas. Eligible candidates must self-identify as one or several of the following:

Formal Education, Training and Occupational Certification:
Have language proficiency in English (equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 6).
Experience:
IMPACT Initiative Associates require at least 6 months of fundamental knowledge and practical experience related to tasks and responsibilities similar to those outlined in the position or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
