The City of Victoria is seeking a Human Resources Consultant to join our team!
As a key member of the People and Culture Department, you’ll act as a strategic business partner, offering expert guidance across a broad range of HR functions to align people strategies with business objectives that foster an inclusive and engaged workplace.
Our ideal candidate holds a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, at least four years of experience working in a unionized environment, and is committed to building collaborative relationships and influencing positive change.

Work From Home
The successful candidate for this posting may be eligible for participation in a hybrid, work from home arrangement in alignment with the City’s Work from Home Policy. Such arrangements are determined with each employee and subject to change based on operational needs and policy direction.
EDO
The successful candidate may be eligible for earned days off, earning up to two days per month in recognition of time worked beyond core operational hours. Such arrangements are subject to change based on operational needs.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Consultant is a strategic business partner providing expert advice to support leaders in implementing organizational strategies and objectives. The position works independently and is responsible for navigating a broad range of people related matters in a complex environment, including employee and labour relations, performance and development, and organizational design, compensation and classification.
Major Accountabilities:
The Human Resources Consultant works closely with leaders and teams to align people and culture practices with organizational goals, priorities and values. Working with an assigned client portfolio, the HR Consultant promotes and fosters a consultative and proactive problem-solving approach to people-related opportunities and challenges to enhance workforce effectiveness and employee experience.
